Cargolux Boeing: Plane Damaged After Engine Touches Runway During Landing


On April 15th, flight CV-7545, a Cargolux Boeing aircraft, was involved in a minor accident at Luxembourg Findel Airport. The Boeing 747-400F had flown from Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport and sustained damages after one of its engines touched the runway during landing. Fortunately, the pilot noticed the incident and initiated a go-around, successfully landing the aircraft without any major incident.

No Injuries were Reported; the Aircraft Still Needs to Be Cleared for Another Flight

Although the incident was witnessed by many people at the airport and shared on social media, no injuries were reported on the ground or on the plane. The 14-year-old Boeing 747-400F(ER) will need to be cleared by the technical team before it can be registered for another flight. Cargolux, which has a fleet of 30 Boeing 747 aeroplanes and operates out of Luxembourg’s Findel Airport, offers cargo services to customers in 90 different countries through an extensive trucking network and aviation operations.
