A delivery man of an e-commerce company stole 10 iPhones in exchange for dummies while he was on his way to deliver to customers. The incident was reported by the police on Thursday. The accused, Lalit, was working for Matrix Finance Solutions, responsible for delivering Amazon’s packages.
Stolen iPhones Replaced with Dummies
Lalit allegedly kept replicas of the iPhone and sent his brother Manoj to deposit them at the company, claiming that the customer could not be contacted. The complaint was filed by Ravi, in charge of Matrix Finance Solutions. Who claimed that Lalit had delivered the package containing 10 iPhones and an Airpod to his address on March 27, but instead of delivering the package, he replaced the iPhones with dummies.
The package was Tampered with and the Customer’s Order Canceled
After suspecting tampering with the package, it was opened and found that counterfeit phones were inside. As a result, the customer cancelled his order after not receiving his package.
Accused Charged with Cheating and Criminal Breach of Trust
Lalit was charged with cheating (Section 420) and criminal breach of trust (Section 408) at Bilaspur police station on Wednesday. However, the accused is absconding, and efforts are being made to nab him.
