The first test match between India and Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is being played at Nagpur. India dominated the first innings, thanks to the impressive performance of Ravindra Jadeja, who made a successful return from a knee injury.

Jadeja took five wickets with figures of 5/47. And he was instrumental in restricting the Australian team to 177 all out in 63.5 overs. Marnus Labuschagne top-scored for Australia with 49 runs, while Steve Smith made 37 runs. India’s openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul made a strong start, with Rohit scoring 56 runs off 69 balls, including nine fours and a six. Despite this setback, India still leads by 100 runs, with a score of 77 for 1 in 24 overs, with Rohit remaining not out on 56.
