Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena: AP Chief Minister To Disburse Rs 19.95 Crore To 213 Students

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch financial aid under Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena on Friday. It will reportedly shell out Rs 19.95 crore for students going abroad for higher education. Around 213 students who have secured admission to the top 200 universities in the world will receive the amount.

The CM will credit the amount to the beneficiaries bank accounts via a virtual mode at an event taking place today at the CM Camp office. Under the Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena program, all education expenses are borne by the state government, with Rs 1.25 crore being the maximum for SC, ST, BC, and minority candidates and Rs 1 crore being the maximum for others if they apply for admission to the top 100 universities in the world. The top 200 universities are selected according to the QS ranking for educational quality.

100% Tuition Refund up to Rs 25 crore for SC, ST, BC and minority students admitted to top 100 universities and 100% tuition refund for others up to Rs. 100% tuition refund up to a maximum of Rs 75. Lakh for SC, ST, BC, and minority students gaining a place at QS universities ranked 100th to 200th worldwide. The subsidy is up to Rs. 75 lakhs for SC, ST, BC, and minorities, and Rs. 50 lakhs for others. 

The first installment of the aid will be paid shortly after receiving the immigration card, the second after the results of the first semester, and the third and fourth after the second and third semesters.

All other students receive a maximum of Rs. 50 lakhs or 50 percent of tuition, whichever is lower. The government also reimburses flight and visa expenses for students going to foreign universities.
